hi

I do know that you can setup groups in DansGuardian using IP's. Will EFW still function properly should I set it up manually within DansGuardian?
Is thee someone that has done it in the past?

Thanks

Okay,

I have attempted to config DansGuardian with group policies, here is my problem.

In dansguardian.conf you have;

proxyip = 127.0.0.1
proxyport = 3128

As far as I understand that need to change to allow different groups, problem is that when you do that you loose connection to the proxy.

Does anyone have a work around?

Thanks

If i remember right to do this you would need to be able to run 2 instances for dansguardian running on 2 different ports. To do this you would need custom compiled versions of dansguardian pointing to different sets of configs for each filter variation.

That said if do that you would not be able to use the EFW interface for updating all but the initial installation.

What could be done though is filtering at the squid level. I do believe this is the order of processing that EFW goes through for proxying:

Workstation -> Squid -> dansguardian -> clamav -> Internet

But again if you set it up you would loose the functionality of the nice gui.
