Windows Update Caching

Hello,
I have read several requests for how to cache Windows Updates and the typical response has been "Setup a WSUS Server". WSUS is not a good option for our needs.
We have our LAN and then a "test network" on another interface where we work on our customer's systems. WSUS doesn't work very well for systems that are not part of a domain (like our customer's PCs). I know that the registry can be modified to make it work but using the normal Microsoft Update interface is preferred as we don't have to make any modifications to the systems that we are servicing.
I am interested in switching to Endian so we can use the dual wan feature. However, if we cannot use some kind of Windows Update caching on the Endian firewall, we will have to look for another solution.
I have checked out several other firewall options including Smoothwall, IPCOP, Endian, PFSense, Untangle, etc. None of them seem to fit all of our requirements (Windows Update caching, load-balancing on WAN, multiple internal networks).
I am open to suggestions or advice to try and find a solution (either "out of the box" or with modifications).
Thanks,
Budman

Advanced Proxy has this feature, since Advanced Proxy works with IPCop and EFW is from IPCop I hope there is a light end of the tunnel.
I too am very keen to see Windows update cashing on EFW box
