Hello,

Before i started with endian, i make a trial with Kerio Control Software. The kerio control was a good thing, we blocks all ads, banners with the url custom like that:

*ads*
*/ads/*

I see in Endian i only can block throw domains or subdomains in web interface.

So my question is, there is any possibility to make that custom urls throw setting files?

Another question is, i turned on the Content Filter to block Chat but it still opens ebuddy, imlove and other sites, there is any other solution to block effectively the web/im chats?

It could be done on dansguardian, and endian seems to take the correct files and do some work with them, but I didn't investigate further.

You need to download a greater and a more updated blacklist to have a regexp url filter, like the one in http://urlblacklist.com/?sec=download.
Change the /etc/dansguardian/blacklists folder with the contents of this zipped file, and add the attached file to the same folder (removing the .conf, it should be named just categories).
Fix the owner and permissions if necessary.

If you check the file /etc/dansguardian/blacklists/ads/expressions you'll see just what you want.
Endian seems to use those files, but I didn't track down why the proxy isn't using the bannedregexp files.

About blocking the chat. It blocks ebuddy and others, just update your blacklists.
If not, you can also try the Intrusion Prevention system, is useful to block chats inside webmail (Like yahoo webchat). Click the yellow triangle on IDS rules to block the traffic instead just notify you.

Thanks for your reply, i will try it.

Tell something about IDS Rules, there is any possibility to block throw IDS by groups or users like content filter? or i have to block all people?

Unfortunately it blocks to everybody.

It's useful for totally undesired traffic, like P2P, malware, or things like that

Hi I'm new to Endian Firewall 2.4 Community Edition.

I've downloaded the updated blacklist from "urlblacklist.com/?sec=download".
Can you tell me how do I copy the file to /etc/dansguardian/blacklists/ads/expressions ?? Any is there any tool for me to do that ??

Thanks.
