Use Endian only as web content filter for LAN clients?

I have an existing DD-WRT router that I don't want to touch it, with IP 192.168.1.1, and clients IP starting from 192.168.1.10


If I only wanted to use Endian as web filter for all clients, what's the proper way to configure it?  Let's suppose the green IP is 192.168.1.2

Should I use 1 NIC or 2 NICs?

Suppose the Endian has 2 NICs, how do I configure it?  One green, and one Gateway?

If the machine has only one NIC, can it be used as web filter? and How do I configure it?

Hi mxnerd,

I don't think you can, I've had the same issue too and couldn't see a way around it.

I ended up putting the RED on a different subnet than the GREEN thats the only way I could get it running.

Answering my own question. 

Yes, it can be done,   now I'm using  Endian with one NIC as web filter.

just use one NIC and configure the RED interface as Gateway and point it to the router IP at first step of network configuration.

then configure your workstations to go through Green interface IP.


Step 1/8: Choose type of RED interface

ETHERNET STATIC
ETHERNET DHCP
PPPoE
ADSL (USB, PCI)
ISDN
ANALOG/UMTS Modem

• GATEWAY

hmm...sorry if i still answer to this topic. I, too, was able to use Endian as a gateway, with only one NIC. But I wasn't able to use Web filter or proxy using this kind of setup..
