Title: port forwarding on community 2.5.1 Post by: tczachor on Wednesday 14 March 2012, 08:57:34 am I just installed 2.5.1 and love it. Coming from IPCop, and have tried a few others. My only problem is I cannot get port forwarding to work.
configured Red interface with my second public IP port forwarded 80 from public IP on red to ip on green Port forward is not working. I know it should be on DMZ, but this is in my classroom, and the webserver is on my green because firewall has been down before and students can't access my Moodle server. I've done this in IPCop and others, but can't get it working in Endian. Must it be on orange? Can I do something else to get it working on green? thanks Tom Title: Re: port forwarding on community 2.5.1 Post by: AussieBloke on Wednesday 14 March 2012, 09:18:31 am There appears to be some bug in 2.51 that you cannot access your own public domain going from red to green. To get around the problem you have to add a manual entry.
Got to Network -> Edit host Add your server as a host for example Host IP Address: 192.16.1.15 Host Name: www Domain name: mydomain.com This will then allow you internal clients to access the web server. The external clients just need the firewall rule for port 80 You are right, Endian is far better than than the others. Portforward does not seem to be working. If I look in the firewall logs, shouldn't I see packets coming to my external IP? Red has a 10.x.x.x IP out to my schools router, plus I added the ip of 206.x.x.x to my red portforwarded 80 from 206.x.x.x. to 80 on 192.x.x.x on green. Same way it has been on my IPCop. The 206.x.x.x ip does not seem to be responding. I have read through the docs/help, but they are for 2.4, not sure how much has changed in 2.5.1. It was the way my schools router was configured, Endian is working GREAT! Port forwarding is fine, AD authentication, it's a nice upgrade form IPCop! |
