I am moving back from a virtualized environment to a real firewall.
I have a small Atom-based board and I would like to make it completely Solid-State using an inexpensive USB-key as main hard disk.

Installation went Ok, but the installed system seems unable to mount the root filesystem.
It obviously sees the usb-key because it is correctly booting from it:
grub is up-and-running and the initrd is correctly loaded.
When it tries to mount the rootFS it fails to find it printing something like "unable to find UUID: "
Manually changing "root=UUID=" to "root=/dev/sda1" does not work.

Any idea?

The same machine is right now working with IPFire on a similar USB-key

Regards
Mauro
