Hi I'm new to Endian but have installed a v2.3 firewall and i am loving it so far.

The only issue that I am having is that I have been unable to allow access to apt-get for linux users.

I have created a outbound firewall rule to allow all outbound traffic from the Green interface to the Red interface and this is working. I have been unable to find a way to create a rule to allow "established" inbound traffic in through the firewall to allow apt to update.

Any help on this issue would be really appreciated.

Thanks

It depends on what flavour of linux you are running, generally you may need to edit your apt.conf file - in particular the http_proxy variable.
Ask your linux uses to consult their manual regarding the correct syntax for using apt-get behind a proxy for their flavour of linux.

Thanks for the quick reply. It turned out that there was a problem with apt on the laptop I was testing as it was running ubuntu 10.04 Beta!!! When I tried from another machine in the afternoon it was all OK.
