Title: Blocking website URLs via DNS proxy. Post by: Mystical_Titan on Thursday 29 September 2016, 12:28:03 am Hi everyone.
I do not make use of the HTTP proxy in Endian, but I wish to block some websites. The only way to do this then is to block the website under the Anti-spyware section. However, if I enter the desired URL (eg. facebook.com, twitter.com, etc) and save the settings, I can still open these URLs, even after rebooting the Endian. Has anyone else experienced this problem and what can I do to solve it? Title: Re: Blocking website URLs via DNS proxy. Post by: Dark-Vex on Monday 10 October 2016, 07:05:10 pm Hi,
have you also enabled the DNS Proxy by make a tick on "Transparent on GREEN" (or desired zone)? Endian is the default gateway for the PCs? Title: Re: Blocking website URLs via DNS proxy. Post by: Mystical_Titan on Thursday 02 March 2017, 10:50:59 pm I have tried version 3.2.2. and the older 2.5.1 and neither work for blocking websites under DNS filtering. I have enabled the "transparent on green" interface. Has anyone managed to use URL filtering successfully?

If you do from a Windows machine command line: nslookup <blocked-domain> and nslookup <blocked-domain> <endian-ip> what is the result? If it's properly blocked you should see an IP like "75.125.225.163" |
