Title: Stop Firewall Service
Post by: miki22 on Wednesday 04 October 2023, 09:10:00 pm

Good morning

Sorry, I have an internal machine that creates a VPN and can't get out (it tells me it's blocked by the firewall).

How can I temporarily turn off the firewall service on my endian?

Just to try...

I found this command:

/etc/rc.d/init.d/"service name" status
/etc/rc.d/init.d/"service name" stop
/etc/rc.d/init.d/"service name" start
/etc/rc.d/init.d/"service name" restart

what is the name of the service? Thank you

Good morning

Is it possible that no one has ever had to turn off the firewall for testing?

Who do you think I can ask?

A thousand thanks

I'm sorry, can you tell me who I can get at least this information from? Maybe with paid support? Or an official guide? Thanks sorry

What sort of VPN, and why do you want to use it like that?

If you have an internal machine you may need a port forward with the correct ports opened, or some other configuration. But until you explain more it is hard to guess at a solution for you.

I'm sure Endian will happily relieve you of cash for professional support......

Check their website for some documentation, but it doesn't all apply to the Community version, and almost certainly wont answer your question.
