Wow, so far 2 posts on different items and not so much as one reply;
http://efwsupport.com/index.php?topic=1384.msg3339#msg3339 (read 29 times)
http://efwsupport.com/index.php?topic=1381.msg3334#msg3334 (read 11 times)

so not sure if I should expect anything more but will post just because maybe someone does have a simple URL or link to a download.  Well I am looking at;
http://docs.endian.com/vpn.html since no one replied and just going through it myself.  Well there is a nice spot about 1/2 way down;
Quote
Click on the link to download the Endian VPN client for Microsoft Windows, MacOS X and Linux from Endian Network.

Well under VPN/advanced, there is no download, so wondering where the VPN client endian has can be downloaded.  Googling reveals http://endian-vpn-client.software.informer.com/ but only has version 2.0 and 2.1 and even better is the quote "We don't have a home url yet, but you can find it using Google."

You know there are other distro's out there, not nearly as polished but don't want to go that route, and I am sure I can google openvpn client and get one, but the point is 2 open posts, docs that are inaccurate so the fustrations are not making this distro fall short of what it claims.

I apologize for the 'rant' type email, but the 'read me's before posting' were done, the questions/posts were informative enough, yet nothing just adds to the fustration!  Anyway, going on to other things while I anticipate a great reply to any / all of these  Smiley

It's easy to get OpenVPN client to work.
On Community release there isn't a Endian Client, you must use the standard OpenVPN client, which indeed it's very good.

Go to OpenVPN and download the client for your OS:
http://openvpn.net/index.php/open-source/downloads.html
For Windows the direct link is
http://openvpn.net/release/openvpn-2.1.1-install.exe
(Latest release as of 15-feb-2010)

Install the client, and you just need two files to get your client configured:
1- A Certificate from your Endian's OpenVPN Server:  You can get it from VPN->"Open VPN Server"->"Server Configuration"->"Download CA Certificate" green link.
    You must have the OpenVPN Server enabled in order to see the download link
2-A config file. It's a text file with extension .ovpn. On that config file put this text
client
dev tap
proto udp
remote Your EFW RED IP address
resolv-retry infinite
nobind
persist-key
persist-tun
ca Your CA Certificate
auth-user-pass
comp-lzo

Save it with any name with extension .ovpn

Copy the two files (Your CA Certificate and your config file) to "C:\Program Files\OpenVPN\config".

And that's all. Using the OpenVPN GUI you'll have a new icon on the taskbar. Double clicking it will ask for user/pass, and with that you'll connect to your GREEN subnet.
Don't forget to adjust the VPN firewall, otherwise it won't connect to anything.

Is there a way to use pre-shared certificates in place of user-and-pass Huh

You can use the openvpn client GUI from www . openvpn.se to make your own vpn client installer that contains the certificate .pem file and the config to get connected to the VPN.

Check the following site (used google to translate from spanish to english):

http : // tinyurl.com/openvpnclient

I've writting a small how to explaining the creation of the executable installer for window$ machines.
