I just setup a new machine with Endian Firewall 2.2 RC3.

Machine is Pentium 4, 1.7 Ghz, 2GB ram, 2-40GB hd in raid array.

Everything works, but the proxy logs take up to  8 minutes to show on screen.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Mine is the also 2.2 RC3.  P4 2.4GHz, 2GB Ram, Single IDE HD.  With 400 users, log takes about 30 seconds or less to load.  It looks like you might need a faster processor.

SSH in to your Endian and run the "top" command.  Watch to see what's going on while you load the proxy logs page.  On mine, logs_proxy.cgi eats 85% to 90+% of the CPU cycles until the proxy logs loads.  Make sure to watch it before and after the proxy logs page to see what else might be eating your CPU.

Now, I did have to turn off Intrusion Detection System (Snort) because that was eating a lot of my CPU all the time.  When IDS was on, the proxy logs took around 1 to 2 minutes to load.  That's too slow for me and I don't like having to wait that long.

Let us know what your results are!

Marc
