Hi,

since a few days I try to install v2.2rc3 via PXE. I use PXE for a lot of years, but today, I have no idea why it doesn't work.

I got the following error message:
Quote
   VFS: Mount root (ext2 filesystem).
VFS: Cannot open root device “<NULL>” or unkown-block(8,1)
Please append a correct “root=” boot option; here are the available partitions:
Kernal panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unkown-block(8,1)

The main question is, what is the correct partition?
Maybe also, what kind of a partition it is?

The content of  "/tftpboot/pxelinux.cfg" is:
Quote
   default endian-2.2-rc3

   label endian-2.2-rc3
   kernel /endian-2.2-rc3/vmlinuz
   append initrd=/endian-2.2-rc3/initrd install=nfs://192.168.143.1/data/pxe/endian-2.2-rc3/

Ok, not a lot, but it must be enough. If I use “root=/dev/ram”, the system boots, until it stopps with a "blue screen". Not from Windows ;-) It is only blue, thats all.

Has somebody an advise?
Thanks a lot.

Manuel
