Wifi card not picking up in GUI after install.

Hi all
I manually added a wifi card using NDISWrapper, (long fun process, the ifconfig wlan0 works) now however i cannot configure the wifi card using the GUI, it is in the Status/Network/interfaces section, however i cannot see the device in the Network Uplinks manager, Device combo box OR in the System/Network Configuration Wizard Device list.
Does anyone have any ideas ? Currently the wifi card has the alias of wlan0, what other configuration settings do you need to set for Endian Gui to be able to configure the card ? is there any sort of registration process in Endian ? for the NIC ? also is it possible that it only picks up NICS with the naming convension "eth0" "eth1" etc
Thx
