I'm trying to figure out if I can install endian 2.3 on an alix appliance. I installed an older version and it worked.
but when I install 2.3 the Ethernet ports don't talk.

Here is the specs.
http://www.netgate.com/product_info.php?cPath=60_85&products_id=312&osCsid=d4f78fe128a506f102e55205d1bf87d2

The network card appears to be a VIA VT6105M 10/100

Does anyone know if endian supports that network driver? if not, can it be added.

any help would be greatly appreciated

You should generate the virtual Machine with Microsft Virtual PC. It worked when I tried it. VMware Server and Workstation does not work.
It's a problem with /etc/udev/rules.d/75-persistent-net-generator.rules.
It should be deleted.
A cleaner and faster solution is installing everything with Microsft Virtual PC and moving the image (vhd-file) with WinImage to the CompactFlash-Card.
It's very fast and easy.
Tell me if it works!

just a thought

Does ALIX support CPU higher then 1 GHZ?
Endian will need that much to run smooth.

IF not check Lanner FW7530 and now FW7535.

Brilliant boxes and about 300 EUR...
