Hello to all,

My scenario is that:

I have a web server which has a dedicated application alongwith db.  All the clients are entering Data into it.  I want to secure my Server (WebServer) from Clients.  I have CISCO Switch 3550. I have ESXi Server in which I can make a Endian Firewall. Now my question is this how can I place a firewall between Clients & Server with above mentioned infrastructure. Any Idea>>>>Huh?

Not having used ESX I'm not 100% sure but the principles should be the same.

Only protecting the web server you'll want to place the red interface in the user VLAN and then the green interface in a VLAN (possibly a virtual network on the ESX box) with just web server.  Then poke holes in the firewall to access the web server and maybe activate IDS (snort) to watch the connections for possible hacking attempts.
