I have installed 2.4 and then activated the smtp proxy.
It does not work and I need to add a NAT firewall rule to get mail to flow.

Any one have any ideas why?

Bizarre I have the proxy working fine on 2.4 (I have other stability issues, but that is a different story)
I would guess it is a firewall/access rule causing an issue

What do you mean by mail to flow?
Outgoing mail?
Does the mail go to the box?

I cannot get inbound mail to flow without the NAT rule.

When it does flow, the proxy does not filter any messages, it blocks everything.

hi david_thistlethwaite,

i have the smtp proxy working perfectly, validating emails, etc...

i do not have a NAT rule, but a incoming routed rule.

can you give me more details on your config ? maybe just a miss configuration.

Pedro, can you give me an example of the routed mail rule you refer to?

My config is fairy vanilla.

I have a static IP and several NAT rules for pop3, http, etc.

Without the NAT smtp rule email did not flow into the email server.

The NAT rule I do have forwards the smtp traffic from the RED  to the Green, then the mail flows and the smtp proxy deals with it.
