Title: raid card support
Post by: anvaruk on Friday 09 November 2012, 02:25:04 am
Hi all
I submitted a bug http://bugs.endian.com/view.php?id=4490

looks like they just keep forgetting to add certain drivers into new releases
every time I have problems with new versions

any workarounds?
can I just copy some files from old ISO version which works on my hardware  to 2.5.1 iso which does not work?

isn't it a normal practice just include all drivers into Linux distros as everyone else does?
or they do it on purpose in order to get paid for support?
or perhaps I don't understand something about how this hardware support works

I work for a charity and we cannot afford to  their paid edition

sorry, I just spent whole night trying to make it to work and eventually reverting to old version

thanks

no, I'm still on 2.4.1, they closed the ticked with status: Fixed in Version   - future

looks like this version has got more hardware support EFW-COMMUNITY-2.4-201005280528-RESPIN
then you can update it to 2.4.1

I found the version but it does not want me to be happy :)
It didn't work on my hardware..same issues I am having with 2.5.1 install. It does not detect Cisco Raid controller.

Now this what I have done. I installed VMWare hypervisor which is free. It detects all the hardware configuration. It detects the RAID without any issues. I then created a virtual machine on it and installed Endian 2.5.1.

May be it help you and others...
