Title: SMTP Transparent Proxy + Exchange Relay Post by: maximus007 on Monday 05 October 2009, 05:17:49 pm I'm having issues with the SMTP Transparent Proxy on EFW2.2 and my Exchange server running on SBS 2003.
The Exchange server is on Green and port 25 is forwarded to it which works as expected (yes I know this isn't an ideal setup). The Exchange SMTP Virtual Server is set up not to accept relaying to stop spammers. When I disable the SMTP proxy, this works as expected; however when I enable the SMTP proxy, the Exchange server picks the EFW machine as part of the local network (from its internal IP) and therefore authenticated, allowing tons of spam to be relayed from our server. This caused me to be put on a spam blacklist within one day of installing the firewall, which is obviously unacceptable! Does anyone know how to fix my setup so I can keep the SMTP transparent proxy enabled whilst stll thwarting spammers? Thanks in Advance, Max. Just need to disable Port Forwarding on port 25 and there you go! |
