Dear all!

I've had a  of years experience with EFW (Community version) and so far am extremely pleased with the results and all satisfied customers!

I have recently re-organised a small business and EFW provides firewall, office proxy and DHCP... all working perfectly on the firewall side.

However, whenever I attempt to join a new computer to the existing Active Directory I always have to ensure I put the DC's IP address into the client's DNS settings for a successful domain join...

I receive an error message similar to this one (geekswithblogs.net/images/geekswithblogs_net/technetbytes/DNS_ADDC/Windows%20Server%202008%20R2%20x64-2011-10-09-09-04-38.png)

Following the exact same instructions where the above image came from actually is what I use to resolve the problem. (geekswithblogs.net/technetbytes/archive/2011/10/09/147233.aspx)

The question is, am I now forever going to be in this situation when using EFW or can EFW push/offer any settings so that I do not need to keep changing the client DNS settings?

Thank you!!!

Just click on the top Proxy menu, then the left DNS menu, then the DNS routing tab (this UI sucks).

Click the "Add new custom nameserver for a domain" link.

Enter "saqibullah.com" for the domain and the domain controller's ip address.

Then EFW will forward any DNS requests for saqibullah.com to that machine.
