I've been using EFW for a few years now and I was aware of the issue in the previous version. I thought the issue had been fixed in the new release so I downloaded and installed and restored my configuration and I'm still having the same problem.

Current FW version:  Endian Firewall Community release 2.5.1 (c) 2011 Endian

Does anyone know what the fix is or if i can apply a hotfix to the firewall so I can get the graphing working?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

UPDATE:

I've ran 'efw-upgrade' and chose option (2) for development.

Upgrade fixed it or not?

Have you only restored the configuration or also the dumps and other stuff. It looks like library structure is broken. On a new install just try to restore only the configuration which you might have to backup again from old firewall.

Okay-- so a week ago this was a new install via ISO ver 2.5.1. I performed a complete backup of my old efw and imported the configuration file during the setup of the new box. I waited a day to allow the system to generate grpahs for network usage but after taking a look at the /var/log/messages output I saw the same errors I was getting on the old efw-- segfault for makegraphs.pl

Two hours ago I remoted into the server via ssh and performed the inplace upgrade. I'm still getting the segfaults errors and the graphs are still not being produced.

The backup file which you created from the old firewall contains only the configuration or the dumps and logs?

Complete dumps and logs. The file ended up being 200MB.

Is there a way to dump the logs and the extra stuff I restored to get the graphing working?

I don't know about the older version. I am using 2.5.1 and there is no issue with network graph diagram.

Its enough to include configuration & db dump.

It's very difficult to do manually.

Try reset and check the EFW's graph before importing anything...
