Hi,

We are using EFW 2.4.0 in a network of 150 users. We have setup a Non Transparent proxy. Daily morning users will complain that they are not able to browse the internet. I will have to restart the proxy service or sometimes the firewall itself to make it start working. Even after restarting the service the problem arises again after an hour or 2.

Is this because of a bug? If so has the bug been fixed?

I am planning on upgrading the version from 2.4.0 to 2.4.1. Is it advisable? And if upgraded will the issue be fixed?

Please revert back. Waiting for your valuable advice.

I'm using EFW v2.4.1 for 200 concurrent user (a school) for 3 month and v2.4.0 for a CyberCafe with 80 concurrent user for 2 years. No Problem. The only thing that frequently die is the Intrusion Prevention System but this does not affect the internet Access for both site.

Maybee your efw does not have enough RAM or your processor does not have enough jus to support the users. One more thing.. the hard disk also very important. If you just use EFW for firewalling... small space hdd is enough. But if you use efw for Firewall + Proxy, you need to have at lease 80GB with 7200 RPM HDD.
