Hello

I am running endian 4.2.1 for the last 24 months without a glitch till last month

my log files started to grow (/var/log/squid)
and in the /var/log there is a file called firewall that is bigger than 1.2 gig

question 1 : that is the reason why the log files started to grow (till the disk was full)
question 2 : can I delete any log files (including the file called "firewall" that has no extension)

I did not change anything in the configuration
and I cannot upgrade to 2.5.1 (various reasons)

Yes you can delete the log files. Any of those. I did too. But deleting is not a good idea. There is a command to truncated a file and it will remove all entries from the while. This is safer option gathering deleting the file. However you can delete archived log files.
