Hi,

I have Endian Community Edition 2.4 installs all over the place, love it, it always works great... until it doesnt.

Yesterday arvo one of my clients networks slowed to a crawl, then stopped, I used the web interface to try to restart the Endian appliance, but it did not.  After resetting the VM it rebooted and I assumed all would be goot.  Today everything had slowed to a crawl again, the Endian dashboard showed constand almost 100% utilisation of WAN in and out, the HTTP Proxy status showed a >200,000 hits and >550,000 misses for today.

I rebooted and the problem came back immediately.  I disconencted the client's WIFI and the problem continued.  I disconnected the client's LAN from the VMware host on which endian is running and shutdown all other VMs, and the problem still continued!  I again restarted the Endian appliance, and it continued.  So far the only way I have been able to get the utilisation back down is by disabling the HTTP Proxy.  If I re-enable it the utilisation again returns to ~100% in and out.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance

Matt

OK, not impressed.

The Endian tranparent proxy is accepting and servicing requests from outside of our LAN!!, As a result our IP has been listed on numerous 'free proxy' sites/threads/posts, and is being abused by MANY users.

Why is Source:ANY the default access policy?!, I would urge all Endian users to check your access policies and ensure it is set to Source:GREEN
