Title: PCI modem, or USB modem purchase Post by: John8904 on Tuesday 30 October 2012, 12:33:22 pm I have a Conexant MA560CI modem and when I run through the Endian network setup it actually finds a Conexant accessrunner adsl modem but it says its a usb modem when this is not correct.
Would the Conexant work or do I need to something else like a usb modem? If so are there any options? Many thanks Title: Re: PCI modem, or USB modem purchase Post by: John8904 on Wednesday 31 October 2012, 02:20:36 am I should be more specific :/
I am on orange broadband in the UK and I used to use an orange brightbox. I select "ADSL (PCI, USB)" for the red interface which joins to my telephone socket in the wall with rj11 cable, then "ADSL modems with Conexant chipset" option as I have a Conexant MA560CI modem. I used these parameters: adsl type = PPPoa VCI=38 VPI=0 auth = CHAP or PAP encapsulation=VCmux tried manual and auto DNS also System log may be saying that the hardware cannot be detected: System 2012-10-30 15:19:18 uplink[main] Starting Uplink "main" System 2012-10-30 15:19:18 pppd (27780) Plugin pppoatm.so loaded.
