Hi,
My first post.
We are experiencing some trouble with Voip calls (sometime call ends unexpectedly or audio is not clear) so I wonder if there is a misconfiguration or lack of performance.
Our Endian Firewall settings include port forwarding for all the ports tipically used by SIP from the public IP (RED interface) to the internal (GREEN) IP of my Voip PBX. SIP Proxy is enabled.
Firewall logs report that there are Firewall conflicts and that destination ip and ports are those of PBX. These logs are reporting errors or this is normal operation? I don't know which is the correct meaning of firewall conflict in this context.

Also my first post - actually 2nd but first was just me complaining about registration process for this site Tongue

I also use Voip behind my endian and dont have any issues.  From what you are describing, it sounds more like bandwidth issues rather than port forwarding / firewall blocking.  If it was the firewall it probably wouldnt work at all or you would get things like one way speech or ring connect and no speech at all.  Are you using Asterisk or something based on Asterisk, if so check codecs etc.  Thats my 50 cents anyway.

I don't know what kind of VOIP setup you have, but I've been using a Sipura VOIP unit for years and have no problems with Transparent SIP.
I've tried my Sipura both behind and in front of Endian and there's no difference in quality.
I opted to have it behind Endian to take advantage of Endian's Call logging, but Release 2.2 has a problem with logging SIP calls (It doesn't work).

I've never needed to forward any ports using the Firewall/Port Forwarding.

My SIP settings:
Enable SIP Proxy: On
Status: Transparent
SIP Port: 5060
RTP Port Low: 7070
RTP Port High: 7090
Port: 5060

Audio problems are usually codec related.
Most VOIP providers support multiple codecs, so it's worth playing around with them to get the best result.
