Fastest line speed using Intrusion Detection

Hi All,

I am runing Endian 3.2. on a dedicated  HP desktop machine.  My ISP line speed is 350Mbits/sec and the firewall seems to cope with this line speed untill I turn Intrusion detection on.  The measured line speed then drops to about half.  The processor (dual core 3.9GHz) doesn't seem to be stressed in turns of speed or memeory (8G installd)

What line speeds/configuration are other folks running and does anyone else see this problem?
