Title: Unable to Route from REDtoGreen Network with singlerouter solution for 2-subnets Post by: vijaynaik30 on Saturday 12 October 2013, 07:50:47 am Hi,
I have recently installed Endian 2.5.2 on VMWAre set-up with 2 networks and both networks are within vmware. My setup is as below: 1. Green Network has 172.10.10.x Network with Gateway as 172.10.10.1 (This IP belongs to Endian firewall Green interface). So i am using Endian firewall as a router. 2. I have another network which uses 198.10.10.x range. I have installed one more endian router and assigned it 198.10.10.1 IP 3. To make both networks reachable to each other I had to install 2 routers i.e. 172.10.10.1 and 198.10.10.1 My question is : Can i use single Endian router and make both networks reachable ? If i put 172.10.10.1 on green then it behaves as a gateway for all 172.10.10.x machines. However for 198.10.10.x machines, i need one more router... How can i achieve above using single Endian Router Machine for both networks ? Thanks in advance for the help.. I am new to Endian.. I am a bit new myself but that's what I would try. Think it through before just throwing routes on it. I put a route of last resort on mine and locked myself out of the green network because I applied it too soon. Here's what I would try but keep in mind that I'm new here as well.
Source Destination Gateway (I think this is how Endian translates "next hop") 0.0.0.0 198.10.10.0 /24 172.10.10.2 0.0.0.0 172.10.10.0 /24 172.10.10.2 198.10.10.0 /24 0.0.0.0 default gateway of ISP 172.10.10.0 /24 0.0.0.0 default gateway of ISP I know the routes seem weird, but I'm not sure the Endian picks up directly connected routes the same way a router would so better to be safe than sorry. I thought there was somewhere in the GUI where you could view the routing table but I cannot find it. Good luck. |
