I tried 2.2 RC2, when the ISO boots up for the install, as soon asw the screen gets to the point where it turns blue, I get a message that it is 'disabling irq 15' which never goes away. I have tried the reocmmended options of nopcmcia and no usb. I have changed multiple BIOS options to free up unneeded IRq's (serial and parallel ports)

I am currently running the stable relase on the same hardware no problem.

If I am correct, IRQ 5 is in use by my CD-ROM drive.

I am using a single hard drive on master primary, and the CD on slave primary.

I did not try, which I will probably try later, is to move the CD into the slave position on the same IDE interfaqce as the hard drive.

I am a recent convert from smoothwall. After doing a Carnegi Mellon lab that featured a brief configuration of Endian, I was so impressed with Endian, I changed over that same night.

The hardware I am using is an ancient grey box with an AMD Duron 800, 256 MB of ram, a smallish IDE hard drive, and IDE CD-ROM.

No complaints at all, the stable is very impressive.

Fi Frank,
Sorry for the delay. Are you asking me to look in the bios and tell you what it says?
If so, let me know. I will hook a monitor up to the machine and get the information for you.

If not, would you clarify what you are asking me to do?
Deine English is sehr besser wie meine Deutch. Vielen danke fuer die antworte im english.

Nein,
Ich habe for eine antworte erwarted auf dich!  :-) How's that for Practicing?
Actually, the older version of EFW works so well, I never revisited it. I did recently burn the latest ISO (This week)
Can I import the old version config when I install the new version?
If so I will try to reinstall the new version after moving the CD to the primary IDE channel, and disabling irq 15.
Danke fuer deine zeit, und hilfe Frank,
Shoene Gruss,

this is good german,
how it comes that you speak german .. lerning in school?

normaly you can do a backup from old EFW 2.2 rc1 or 2 and insert to rc3 but i never try it maybe some Config Files are change.
if i update from RC1 to RC2 i do not use a Backup, i do all the Settings.

Ich habe gewohned in Deutchslahnd 7 jaar.
I am upgrading from 2.1.2.

I guess I will give it a try. The only thing I need to keep straight are the 4 interface IP's. The rest I can re-add as needed.

I'll let you know how it went once I do the attempted re-install.
Danke sehr.

I placed both the CD and the hard drive on the same ide cable. The isntall with the current version went flawlessly.

I am not sure if this version provides it, something that would be nice is output to DSHIELD.

On the previous version, updating dyndns failed always. I haven't tried it with this version yet. Will try soon.
