Good evening
does anyone know how can I block download of specific files with Endian 2.2 or 2.3?
I've tried with mime types, but it doesn't seem to work

The files I'm trying to block are 's, exe's, mpg's with

audio/mpeg
video/mpeg
application/octet-stream

Thanks in advance

The only way is creating a HTTP proxy rule with deny access.
It should work, but I didn't tested it, maybe have some bug

To block mime types, you must first make all traffic go through the proxy. This easiest way is to make the proxy transparent. Then go to the content filter page and add a new "deny" rule with the mime types you listed.

Just tried it for myself, worked like a charm.

add the extention to  /etc/dansguardian/profiles/1/bannedextensionlist

But mime/types are a better filter.

Hello All,

I still cannot block files with my Endian 2.3 Mini.

I added banned file extension to
/etc/dansguardian/profiles/1/bannedextensionlist and /etc/dansguardian/profiles/3/bannedextensionlist

and it works, but after reboot the system, all back to default blank files.    Please help.
