If networking is seriously broken, how is it possible to restore a known good backup from the command line?

backups are stored here --> /home/httpd/html/backup/
cd into that directory
type:
tar xvf backup-<date>-<router.name>-settings-cron.tar.gz -C /
done

And I guess just type "reboot" after the backup is extracted!
