When viewing logs for Firewall or IDS, I am unable to view logs older than today.     I change the date and it just changes back to today.   I can SSH into the terminal and view them that way.     Is there a solution for this issue?   It was this way in 2.2 and 2.3 as well.   

cd /var/log/snort
gunzip -cvf alert-20100810.gz
