Title: QOS QUESTION - CANT GET IT TO WORK! Post by: kcwhited on Thursday 28 January 2010, 07:00:59 am I can't get QOS TO WORK!.
HISTORY / SETUP: We have a T-1 and a DSL line, I have one endian box on each connection, I upgraded the T-1 to Endian 2.3 so I can kill my linksys infavor of a real firewall that now supports port ranges. previously I had endian running on the web server and the Trixbox going through a little cable router, this worked very well but I had to indication of use and I just dont like using the linksys device, but there are few options before endian 2.3 that allowed forwarding of port ranges to allow trixbox / sip to function properly. I have messed with the QOS Settings ALOT trying to set everything by port then port ranges, setting everything to low and the trixbox to HIGH, most recently I set it to not use ports but prioritize traffic based on the server ip only but this isn't working either. no matter what seem to do if the line becomes saturated quality goes to hell for the voice calls. This DID NOT happen before with the two seperate devices I could hammer and saturate the t-1 with web traffic and the CISCO router was able to priortize voice to the linksys properly, but this single ENDIAN box is killing me, obviously I can put in another endian and be back in business but that seems to defeat the purpose of QOS and Endian for that matter. ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED, I HOPE ITS JUST A SIMPLE MATTER OF ME NOT DOING THE RIGHT THING HERE. THANKS IN ADVANCE - KEVIN I currently have it set as follows: DEVICES Device Upstream Bandwidth (kbit/s) Downstream Bandwidth (kbit/s) Actions Uplink main 1300 1300 CLES Uplink main - High Priority UPLINK:main 55% 100% 10 Uplink main - Medium Priority UPLINK:main 30% 100% 7 Uplink main - Low Priority UPLINK:main 10% 80% 4 Uplink main - Bulk Traffic UPLINK:main 5% 100% 2 Quality of Service Rules Devices Cles Rules Add Quality of Service Rule Source Destination Protocol Service TOS/DSCP Traffic Cl Actions 192.168.3.28 <ANY> <ANY> <ANY> Uplink main - High Priority <ANY> 192.168.3.28 <ANY> <ANY> Uplink main - High Priority 192.168.3.24 192.168.3.27 192.168.3.41 192.168.3.43 <ANY> <ANY> <ANY> Uplink main - Low Priority <ANY>192.168.3.24 192.168.3.41 192.168.3.43 192.168.3.27 <ANY> <ANY> Uplink main - Low Priority Title: Re: QOS QUESTION - CANT GET IT TO WORK!
