Try to segment the issue. Its a very broad statement that you are unable to update antivirus.

Are you using proxy? Are you using outgoing firewall?
Usually antivirus programs communicate on port 8014 if not port 80. Try to disable proxy and outgoing firewall and see how it goes?

First try to disable proxy and see if it is working or not. It is not more related to outgoing firewall i believe. And also if you have allowed all the ports on proxy then it shouldn't be a problem with proxy but with outgoing firewall it could be bcoz outgoing firewall only allows stanndard ports by default. You have to add non standard ports by yourself.
