Title: ipsec: service stopped, but it this really the cause? Post by: vikinger on Friday 16 October 2009, 08:26:08 pm Hi there,
currently, we (successfully) use OpenVPN. A few days ago, our firm got a new iPhone which wants to connect to our VPN, too. Unfortunately, the iPhone doesn't support OpenVPN: it "only" supports PPTP/L2TP/IPSec. So I bothered with the configuration of IPSec. The problem seems to be that the service for IPsec doesn't even start. The iPhone responds with "server not reachable" (or similiar, roughly translated), no matter if I try via 3G or WLAN. I got some screenshots which I think might be important: services (http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/607872/dienste.png) vpn settings (http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/607872/vpn.png) (I tried to use the IP address instead of the hostname, but the error remains) Is it correct to blame the stopped service? If so, how do I start it? Thanks in advance :) //edit Just forgot: we run EFW 2.2 which, on the whole, is running fine. I don't want to upgrade unless it's necessary! The VPN Ipsec service says started, but when I enabled a remote vpn connection, it switches to stopped. Any help is appreciated.
