Hi Saluto,
Caching video from youtube, etc can be achieved with some success using squid. I suggest you google the squid refresh_patterns needed to implement this. I have posted some info on this in the following post:
http://www.efwsupport.com/index.php/topic,3779.msg10326/topicseen.html#msg10326
Try the refresh_patterns I posted there and see what your results are.
The issue you are going to face is that unless you have people viewing the same video multiple times you are not going to see much benefit from the cache. You will need to have a large drive to cache these files especially if they watching HD video.

Created in/etc/squid/squid.conf commands, except that when I reboot the machine these commands disappear. Why is that?

Hi Saluto,
These must be inserted in /etc/squid/squid.conf.tmpl so that they do not get overwritten by changes in the web interface.

Thank you, for helping me.
Put the tutorial that your person passed me, only the proxy was in offline mode.
I rebooted and still in offline mode.

Every time I do I change in the/etc/squid/squid.conf.tmpl the proxy goes into offline mode

Hi,
You must insert the refresh_patterns under the section of the squid.conf.tmpl that starts with #cache settings. It should be around line 264 or so.
If you insert these earlier, it will conflict with the auth mechanisms Endian has set up and cause issues.
Also check this link for more info:
wiki.squid-cache.org/ConfigExamples/DynamicContent/YouTube
Make sure your maximum object size is big enough to cache the - As I mentioned in the refresh_pattern post if the size is too small, squid will discard it anyway. It may need to be over 1GB in order to save some of the .

I don't think this is going to be achieved on the current version of Squid in Endian as it stands.
There are a lot of tips for doing it on the web, search for "cache youtube squid" and see the results.
As I said earlier, unless the same video is being requested by a lot of people you are not going to see much benefit from this.
I am more interested in caching updates and other more common traffic so on so I am not putting much effort into youtube caching.
