I've noticed a lot of these since the upgrade to 2.4.

fetchipac[10143]: segfault at 1 ip b76b9e16 sp bfbc66e8 error 4 in libc-2.3.4.so[b7666000+114000]

Anyone else noticed this?

[287510.256348] fetchipac[9204]: segfault at 1 ip b76a8e16 sp bfd4c4a8 error 4 in libc-2.3.4.so[b7655000+114000]

I am getting the same thing...It seems like it appeared in the logs when I attempted to upload video  to livestream.com....It appears it is holding up authentication when I access the studio after I login.

This the the message I see in the live logs:

fetchipac (9104) segfault at 1 ip b764de16 sp bfa8aa98 error 4 in libc-2.3.4.so[b75fa000+114000]

Any ideas how to fix this....? This will create a problem for me especially when uploading video of Church Service....

Thanks,

 Undecided

Is there going to be a fix for this soon??? Otherwise I may have to downgrade back to v2.3.

I've got this problem too.

And here is a similar error report of another person: permalink.gmane.org/gmane.comp.security.firewalls.efw.user/5172

Ater I restart the OpenVPN service the browser frontend hangs up and I have to reboot the machine in order to get back access to the browser interface of my EFW.

Please Endian team release a fix soon.

I too am seeing this message every 5 minutes in the system log.

kernel: [ 4737.932886] fetchipac[16861]: segfault at 1 ip b76b2e16 sp bfb2f048 error 4 in libc-2.3.4.so

Endian CFW 2.4 Respin, and yes I have run efw-upgrade and re-booted.

1) Is there a fix to this issue?
2) Can anybody tell me what may be broken as a result of this issue?

Does anyone have status on this?
Or a easy workaround?

Best regards Jimmy

I'm also experiencing the same issue with Endian version 2.4 in ESX 4.0.

Here what I'm seeing in the System Log:

System 2010-07-16 15:35:11 pl (25052) segfault at b714dfc8 ip b73c5340 sp bff0af60 error 7 in librrd.so.2.0.8[b73a6000+4a000]

System 2010-07-16 15:55:10 pl (27632) segfault at b71d2fc8 ip b744a340 sp bfcebd00 error 7 in librrd.so.2.0.8[b742b000+4a000]
System 2010-07-16 16:00:10 pl (28274) segfault at b7104fc8 ip b737c340 sp bfa3a720 error 7 in librrd.so.2.0.8[b735d000+4a000]

I noticed the traffic graphs do not display if I go to > Status > Traffic graphs but on the home screen, the real-time graphs show fine. I'm also experiencing slow response times from the firewall when visiting websites and internal communication when authenticating to my AD server.

Any ideas?

fetchipac isn't being maintained anymore and libipt_standard is only used in older versions of IPTables that use a totally different chunk of code...so chances are..unless someone is going to fork fetchipac and start maintaining it..and update it to run with 1.4.0+ IPTables then....Endian will have no choice but to remove this piece of software...as it will never be fixed

Personally I find broken non-essential software very annoying.

Can anybody advise on how to remove/suppress this problem - without damaging the security of the firewall of course  Smiley

hi, to fix this problem simply copy the attached file (libipt_standard.so) in this bug report

http://bugs.endian.it/view.php?id=2943

to your EFW 2.4 firewall into the following directory

/lib/iptables/

EDIT: do also set the same rights to the file as the other files do have in this directory.

Then restart your server and the Traffic Graphs should work again.

It's unfortunately typical that Endian has already fixed that problem and do not release a update through efw-upgrade... it's a shame!!

I'm going to try the fair/hard way.

I'll update the iptables  and ipac-ng to the newer versions (to 1.4.2 & 1.33). So far in a dev EFW 2.4 I was able to fix the fetchipac[16861]: segfault  error this way.
Now I must see if I can move the new versions to a fresh 2.4 install. I'm not very fond of kernels, rpm and others.
I also need to check the differences between ipac-ng 1.33 and the older version, to fix any difference.

But if your way works, it's far more easier.

And yes, Mantis bugtrack hardly works for Community, they only fix bugs on Commercial boxes I think.
I understand that on low priority bugs, but critical ones should be fixed on both branches.
