You will have to give me chance to explain this one!
Having given up on upgrading to V3 for reasons previously posted ( but no replies) we have now gone to 2.5.

Really happy with most things and like lots of the upgrades from 2.3, BUT, we are getting some really slow internet searches.

Example ( it's a school) pupil one searches for images of 'frogs' and gets instant images and no delays.
Pupil two does something similar and waits up to a minute for a reply.

No real pattern , except we have ruled out our internet connection, as, bypassing content filter ALWAYS gets a fast reply.

Ideas as to problem?.......possibly queuing for image content processing or page content inspection. Would more RAM help? Is there a setting that I can alter .....I can't find anything......Dansguardian or Squid issues have been mentioned.

Ideas welcome or I will be pushed into expensive purchasing of non community software - which I want to avoid!

Thanks

Prueba con esto, a mi me sirvio:

With this fix . . . .

nano /usr/lib/efw/dansguardian/default/settings
change the values as below:

MAXCHILDREN=500
MINCHILDREN=128
MINSPARECHILDREN=32
PREFORKCHILDREN=16
MAXSPARECHILDREN=256
MAXAGECHILDREN=10000

Also if you are facing slow browsing issue change the following values:

nano /var/efw/havp/settings

change 2 values as below

MAXSERVERS=150
SERVERNUMBER=50

I have a efw box running 200 users through a 50mbit fiber connection with the above settings modified.
