Firewall Hiccups More Frequent

One man IT shop guy here...
We have an Endian Firewall on an old Pentium 4 box, sitting on its side in a broom closet. For the most part of my 1 1/2 years here, we've had no issues out of it. Once in a great while, we would lose internet/pop3 email but rebooting the box fixed it. The past two weekends (and twice this past weekend) it did the hiccup again. Sadly, I couldn't find anything useful in the logs.
We are on Endian Firewall Community release 2.1.2 (c)
We have a hardware "Watchguard" firewall my predecessor purchased but they never installed. And I've really had no reason to install it until now. But I'd rather keep the current firewall in place but try to figure out the recent hiccups with no useful logs.
I am kind of novice when it comes to "advanced" firewall troubleshooting so any suggestions would be helpful
Thanks!
Brian
