Post by: tnol2 on Monday 28 December 2009, 11:10:07 pm
My endian 2.3 have a problem with the http proxy. When enable transparent proxy, his block everything. I try some tricks posted here, but the problem persist.

Hi,
I have the same trouble. Previously I have used Endian 2.2 with http proxy enabled and it worked pretty fine. Now with 2.3 (community version) the http proxy doesn’t work at all. In the doc about configuring the http proxy I found the following info.

Code:
First of all, you can define the way users in each zone (GREEN and, if enabled also ORANGE, BLUE) can access the proxy. Per zone choices are:

disabled
the proxy server is not available in the given zone
no authentication
the proxy server is available to anyone (no need to log in) but you need to configure your browser manually or tell the browser to search for a proxy (WPAD or PAC)
authentication required
users need to configure their browser manually or tell the browser to search for a proxy (WPAD or PAC) and need to authenticate themselves in order to use the proxy server
transparent
the proxy server is available to anyone and no browser configuration is needed (HTTP traffic is intercepted and forwarded to the proxy server)

In my installation I have only the choice of "transparent" and "non transparent"; is this a restriction of the community version?

However, I want to setup the proxy in non transparent mode without authentication. How can I achieve this? Any help is appreciated.

Happens in my 2.3 installation, transparent or otherwise.  Think there is some underlying problem. :-(

Solution!!

When checking with the IP that the proxy connection was going to the internet, I discovered that she was using the IP of my output interface, the NAT and not normally used for navigation. Then the solution was to create a NAT to convert that IP (port 80) of my output interface to the old IP I used in NAT for navigation.

Thanks for the tip of all.

Sorry, do not think I am following you here...

You set port all TCP port 80 (OUTGOING) traffic to ???
