I have been using EFW 2.2 for some time now and on occasion I have to restart Spam filter for SMTP (amavis). Normally I use Putty to connect through SSH and run this command /etc/init.d/amavisd start. Once I do this my emails start to flow as normal.
Today I stopped receiving emails so I tried the command with no avail, However, I can still send emails no problem. I also rebooted the entire firewall to no avail. I then bypassed the proxy by enabling port 25 in port forwarding and at the moment the SMTP proxy is disabled. I can now send and receive emails until the proxy issue gets cleared up. Unfortunately all the spammers are having a field day loading up my inbox.
Has anyone else experienced this and have you tried any other solutions to get the proxy back up and running? I'll repost if I resolve the issue as well.
