Hey all...

I'm trying to forward PPTP connections to a VPN serber behind my Endian Firewall, I think I'm missing something.

Essentially it works as follows: Windows Client >> Internet >> Endian FW >> VPN Server (On Green)

I have the following rules under Port Forwarding:

GRE    ANY : GRE    =>    192.168.0.5 : GRE
TCP    ANY : 1723    =>    192.168.0.5 : 1723

From what I understand that's all I need, but I'm having problems connecting, is there anything else I need to do?

 Hi,

My attempts at port forwarding to a PPTP server behind two of my Endian 2.3 Firewalls, are successful on one but not the other. (Both are setup with the same firewall rules except.

Endian with Static IP on Red. PPTP port forward works fine, Endian with Red IP obtained by DHCP fails to port forward GRE protocol.

1. Endian with Static IP on Red interface.

GRE   ANY:GRE => 192.168.0.2 GRE
TCP  ANY:1732 => 192.168.0.2 TCP/1723

successful connection from external PPTP client to server behind Endian firewall.

2. Endian with DHCP assigned Red interface.

GRE   ANY:GRE => 192.168.0.2 GRE
TCP  ANY:1732 => 192.168.0.2 TCP/1723

unable to connect from external PPTP client to server behind Endian firewall.
