Hi,

Came into the office this morning and everyone's computers where at a near standstill ... if I try to ping one of our servers e.g ping pluto it will take approx 15 seconds until it detects the IP address and carries on pinging ... but if I ping direct to the IP it is instant. Now this is across all the machines (their settings all use endian as their DNS), what can cause this behaviour? the DNS is working it just has a 15 second 'hang' before actually carrying out the task, and its always 15 seconds, never varies ...

Thanks
Mike

Do you endian for dns forwarding or do you have a internal DNS server?
