I got an interesting problem using Endian v.2.5.1 content filter.

I defined several sites to be blocked. In Internet Explorer 8 & 9 they are poperly blocked! When I'm using Mozilla Firefox [All versions <12] they are viewed normally, like there is no content filter.

Moreover HTTP sites are always blocked correctly in all current browsers!

Does anyone of you got an idea why this appears?

Thanks!

I guess that's because by default Firefox is not redirecting all traffic to the proxy.
You can change that setting in the network preferences.

Thanks for your reply! That must be the reason! Do you know, if it's possible to force Mozilla Firefox using Endian 2.5.1 to use the firewall's proxy for HTTPS traffic too?

I've tried setting the proxy server manually for all protocols in Mozilla Firefox! Now it works for HTTPS too!

Isn't Endian 2.5.1. able to enforce all Browsers using the proxy server for both protocols [HTTP and HTTPS]?

To enforce proxy configuration on browsers (in windows) I use a group policy settings on the AD server (IE and Firefox). For other platforms and browsers I use manually settings. however if you use transparent proxy those settings are not needed. If you use non transparent proxy to permit authentication remember to uncheck firewall rules on Endian related to port 80, 443 and so on.
