Title: Endian Firewall is blocking my opera's google search engine
Post by: leozeppelin on Friday 28 September 2012, 10:17:00 pm
Endian Firewall is blocking my google search engine
While I use the google´s search engine of opera, the firewall block the search
So I´ve tried to test another browser (FF) and from there my search is get completed without block.
What I´ve noted on FF is that it uses the https instead the http used by Opera on the search results

So I´ve edited the my google search engine on Opera and added the https on the address used by google
The firewall is still blocking after my change, because I´ve noted that the https turns to http after I enter the text to be searched

If I change back the URL to https then the firewall does not block my search.

What can I do at the EFW to check how it's blocking my search only in opera?

It looks like that dansguardian is blocking the request. You can allow google.com domain in your whitelist of dansguardian. Or change the value of inappropriate content to 160 or to 300 under access policy in proxy tab.

Thanks for the prompt answer, but I've changed the URL of the search engine
from http :// google. com... to https :// encrypted. google. com...
So it's not the domain that were being blocked but somehow the http protocol

Thanks

But if you check the error again it says "Banned comination found" which means that its dansguardian which is blocking it.

Thanks, but I'll leave like that, since I am only concerned about my searches.
The IT guy here block some google stuffs i.e youtube
Then I won't talk with he about it =)

Thank you for your advice, this can be useful at a near future
