Network problem - dropping connection after some kb

Hi.
I have a problem with and endian installation.
On my local LAN I have a tomcat server listening on port 8080, with a "big" flash app (650Kb).
Either via PortFW or via VPN, when I try to download the page with wget, it fetches 250Kb and then gets stuck. wget then retries several times, not from 0 but restarting download from 250K, but with not success.
I tought it could be the DSL modem, but I attached a machine on EFW's red and it won't download anyway, so it's certainly a FW problem. But I really have no idea about what it could be.
I tried logging PortFW packets, and I obviously see them passing. But nothing else.
I tried setting RED MTU to 1350, Windows MTU to 1350, but yet no luck.
What could I check?
thanks
