Hi,

I'm using Endian FW within a local network to try and advance my knowledge of networks and subnets.
My firewall is configured, so my internal IP's are 192.168.5.x and the external adaptor is 192.168.1.111
I have other computers outside my local network (but in the same building) all on 192.168.1.x

From within my local network, I can access the other 192.168.1.x machines via the direct IP addresses, but what I want to do it access them via their windows machine name, as I did before putting myself in my own network.
E.g. I want to be able to access: \\server1\share1\ (where server1's ip address is 192.168.1.222)
If I access \\192.168.1.222\share1\ this works fine.

Not sure if this is a limitation of my knowledge and this just isn't possible or is there something with in Endian I can configure?

Hope this makes sense!

Hi,

Tried that but still nothing.
Also, the very first rule I have on outgoing traffic is to allow everything out..
