Hello,

I am evaluating Endian at some of our client sites and testing it using the community version. We are having a bad experience because of some of the bugs- the biggest being spamassassin whitelist/blacklist being completely ignored. I have found signs in the bug reports and on the web that an update was released (2.3.1) around January 20th that seems to address most of the bugs but no instructions are given on how to get/apply the patch.

My question is how to get/apply the patch?

Thanks in advance,
Brian

Register with endian on the endian.com website under community/download/
and then follow the email that pops through.

a example email as follows (note I had to place spaces in web links)

1.   Enable SSH access on your firewall
2.   Open your favorite SSH terminal and connect to the firewall (On Windows you may use putty)
3.   If your Endian Firewall Community is older than version 2.2 please run
root@efw-2:~ # rpm -ivh http :// updates. endian. org / upgrade . rpm
4.   Run the efw-upgrade script
                root@efw-2:~ # efw-upgrade
Please choose the appropriate channel for your environment and hit [ENTER]:
               1) Production (stable releases)
               2) Development (bleeding edge)
              1
Please enter your username and hit [ENTER]:

I am having the same issue.  After running the commands above I am still on 2.3.0.  When I ran efw-upgrade all I get is 'No interesting upgrades available'.  How do I upgrade to 2.3.1?

Thank you bodie for your reply. But, I had all ready registered with Endian and tried that method with the same results of "No interesting upgrades available". That method only upgrades the major version from 2.2 to 2.3. I am looking for the method to upgrade the minor version from 2.3.0 to 2.3.1.

Thanks,
Brian

I have been using EFW 2.2 and 2.3.0 and I would like to thank EFW team for their great efforts.

Recently, because of a lot of bugs of EFW 2.3.0 I'm considering not to use EFW 2.3.0; but, this is not I want in fact.
When can I have EFW 2.3.1 with bug fixes? It's been about six months since EFW 2.3 out.

Looking forward to seeing an update of EFW 2.3.0 soon!!

Best Regards
G.

Bump
Now the 2.3.1 roadmap says 90%!

Is there any chance to release a intermediate 2.3.0.5 or something?

The  efw-upgrade command is a great idea... if it would do something.

We really need a revision for the 2.3.0 release, it has some critical bugs.
I don't think it's hard, just a diff from 2.3 files to get a new release....
