So I have EFW-Community-2.4 running well on XenServer 5.6. The only thing that I haven't mannaged to get running is Xen-Tools.
When I mounted the xs-tools.iso and tried to run install.sh it returned "Fatal Error: Failed to determine Linux distribution and version"
I then tried installing the RPMs found on the xs-tools.iso (xe-guest-utilities-5.6.0-578.i386.rpm and xe-guest-utilities-xenstore-5.6.0-578.i386.rpm) they seemed to install but not do anything.
Has anyone got this running or is this a paid version only feature?

Sorry for not being helpful, but how did you manage to install EFW on Xenserver 5.6?.... I have tried all my best but still no success.

Donuts,

any luck?  I am getting the same problem trying to install Xen tools on EFW 2.3 community..
Any idea on how to install Xen?

I found this https://forums.openfiler.com/viewtopic.php?pid=14571
but I cannot run the code they suggested

conary update beecrypt=contrib.rpath.org@rpl:devel
conary update rpm=rpm.rpath.org@rpl:devel/4.4.4
mount /dev/xvdb /mnt
rpm -ivh --nodeps xe-guest-utilities-5.0.0-367.i386.rpm
umount /mnt

this is what happens...
root@ipcop:/mnt/xs-tools/Linux # conary update rpm=rpm.rpath.org@rpl:devel/4.4.4-bash: conary: command not found
root@ipcop:/mnt/xs-tools/Linux # conary update beecrypt=contrib.rpath.org@rpl:devel
-bash: conary: command not found
root@ipcop:/mnt/xs-tools/Linux #

Can someone please advise how I can get this installed?
I need xen tools installed so that I can perform clean shutdown for UPS.
