Endian 2.4 with ESXi 4.1.0 - Red Interface issues

So I have an HP 1810g-24 switch, port based VLAN that I know works. I have crappy Qwest DSL and their modem.
I plug the red interface into the OUTSIDE VLAN and set to obtain automatically, doesn't work. I set it static and it can't ping the modem. I bridge the modem and have Endian do PPPoE authentication and it fails.
Yet if I plug my PC into the same switch port as the RED interface it obtains automatically no problem. If I bridge the modem and have my PC do PPPoE authentication it works no problem.
It is as if they are not connected, yet the switch shows link.
I need some opinions - is this an Endian inside of ESXi issue?

Many DSL providers use sticky DHCP... meaning they tie the DSL to your MAC address. I would try one of the following options:
1. spoof the MAC address of your PC
2. connect to your PC, then issue 'ipconfig /release'
3. contact your DSL provider and ask them to release it
4. unplug the modem from all network devices, then power it off for anywhere from 3 minutes to several hours... some carriers reset the MAC after a set period of time.
I have seen this with both ATT and Verizon.
