Title: Installation of 3.2.2 failing Post by: slynke on Friday 04 November 2016, 07:27:39 am I'm currently running 3.0.5 beta 1 on a Dell Optiplex 760 and I'm trying to run a fresh install of 3.2.2 over the top of it. However, the install is failing and it says:
cat: can't open '/tmp/recovery_work/recovery_image': No such file found. Then it reboots. I'm trying to install from a flash drive created with Rufus in dd mode. Anyone have any ideas? Endian 4.2.2 is on 64 bit. Why do you want to install 4.2.2 over 3.0.5? That is not the way for upgrade! If you have many rules created on 3.0.5 you can make a backup, download the backup on your PC, after a fresh install of the 4.2.2, during first setup you can restore the rules from backup (in case if your 3.0.5 can be started again; if not, fresh install of 4.2.2 and new rules). The best solution is to use an ISO DVD. Title: Re: Installation of 3.2.2 failing Post by: Gabriel GHEORGHIU on Saturday 05 November 2016, 03:59:51 am Sorry! 3.2.2 not 4.2.2!

I have a backup of my 3.0.5 configuration and I also don't have that many firewall rules if i need to re-do them. I don't have a CD/DVD ROM on this PC which is why I'm using a USB ISO to install. Do you have any idea why I'm getting the error during the install? Title: Re: Installation of 3.2.2 failing Post by: Gabriel GHEORGHIU on Saturday 05 November 2016, 08:47:12 am OK.
Sorry for misunderstanding. I have tried for sometimes to install from USB and I failed. If I remember well is something about how the USB is seen by the system after boot. I think the path for the installation is changing because the USB is seen like a HDD. If you search on Internet by the error you should find something. It was too complicated for me. Because of that I'm using an external USB DVD-Writer and I never failed. |
